Data Deletion Instructions
JCJW Pty Ltd, trading as Zest (“we”, “us”, “our”), respects your right to control your personal data. This page explains how to request deletion of your data from Zest.
What gets deleted
When you request data deletion, we will permanently remove from our active systems:
- - Your Zest account and profile information
- - Your contacts, conversations, and message history stored in Zest
- - Access tokens and credentials for any connected accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Google, Microsoft, and others)
- - Any content, files, or media you uploaded to Zest
- - Activity logs and usage data tied to your account
Some information may be retained for a limited period where required by law (for example, financial records retained for 7 years under Australian taxation law) or in encrypted backups, which are deleted in line with our standard backup retention cycle.
How to request deletion
There are two ways to request deletion of your data:
1. From within Zest (recommended)
- - Sign in to Zest
- - Go to Settings → Profile
- - Click “Delete account”
- - Confirm the deletion when prompted
2. By email
- - Email us at support@zestapp.com.au with the subject line “Data Deletion Request”
- - Include the email address associated with your Zest account
- - We may ask you to verify your identity before processing the request
How long it takes
We will action your deletion request within 30 days of receiving it. In most cases the deletion is complete within a few business days. You will receive a confirmation email once your data has been deleted.
Disconnecting a single connected account
If you only want to remove a specific connected account (for example, disconnect your Facebook Page from Zest without deleting your whole Zest account), you can do this from Settings → Connected Accounts within the app. When you disconnect:
- - We immediately revoke our access to that account
- - We delete the access tokens stored for that connection
- - Messages and contacts associated with that connection are removed from your Zest inbox
You can also revoke Zest’s access directly from your Facebook, Instagram, Google, or Microsoft account settings. We treat any such revocation as a disconnection request and apply the same handling.
Removing Zest from your Facebook account
If you connected Zest to a Facebook Page or Instagram account, you can remove our access at any time:
- - Go to Facebook → Settings & Privacy → Settings → Business Integrations
- - Find “Zest” in the list
- - Click “Remove”
This revokes our access immediately. To also delete the data we already collected from that connection, please follow the deletion request steps above.
